⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Jorge Abarca has been absolutely outstanding. He has fixed so many issues in my apartment over the years, including kitchen sink leaks, bathroom leaks, clogged drains, broken stove burners, lights that constantly needed replacing, and even a broken washer when we were in urgent need of it working again. What truly sets Jorge apart is his responsiveness and dedication. He consistently comes out the same day a request is submitted, even when the issue isn’t classified as an emergency. His work is always thorough, professional, and done right the first time. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely cares about residents and takes such pride in their work. Knowing that Jorge is part of the maintenance team gives me tremendous peace of mind. Honestly, one of the biggest reasons I continue to enjoy living here is because of the exceptional service he provides. Thank you, Jorge, for all of your hard work, reliability, and commitment to keeping our homes safe and comfortable. It is truly appreciated.

I am extremely disappointed in this apartment community and its apparent lack of value for long-term residents. After living here for two years and referring two new tenants to the community, we were shocked to learn that transferring to another unit within the same complex would cost nearly $6,000 in fees. Our current rent has increased to almost $3,000 per month for an unrenovated one-bedroom apartment, so we explored transferring to another unit just one month before our lease ends to at least be able to have more space for the same price of rent. What makes this even more frustrating is that these transfer fees did not exist just a few months ago. Our neighbor recently transferred to the apartment directly below us and was only required to pay a small transfer fee. Community Relations confirmed that the policy changed recently, leaving current residents like us facing thousands of dollars in new charges. Rather than working with loyal residents who want to remain in the community, management showed little interest in helping us stay. The message seems clear: attracting new tenants is more important than retaining existing ones. It’s especially disappointing because this property has benefited from dedicated staff members who genuinely care about residents. In fact, one of the best maintenance employees is moving into an Essex Fremont location because even he can no longer afford to live here. Employees like him are a large part of why this community receives positive reviews in the first place. For a community that continues to raise rent, I expected a greater commitment to resident retention and customer service. I was passed from Kimberly Sanchez, to Angelica Flores who told me to not get information from neighbors and reiterated that I’d need to pay 6k to transfer units, and back to Kimberly again. I loved living here but community relations doesn’t care to keep current residents. I genuinely thought the 6k (transfer fee + Rent) was a mistake. Or there was some miscommunication. That isn’t even reasonable.

I especially loved his proactive safety tip about turning off the computer to stay safe—it was a very thoughtful touch. Highly recommend his work and this maintenance crew!
